TDK announces sponsorship and participation in the largest Thanksgiving Day race in America

  • The company is a race sponsor and will cover race and registration fees for its team members worldwide

TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) announces that it will continue supporting the Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot, held annually in downtown San Jose, California. It is the largest Thanksgiving Day race in America, and in 2022, it was the largest run/walk race in California. In 2023, TDK will proudly sponsor the Turkey Trot’s 5K race, one of five race categories taking place during the event.

In its seventh year as a sponsor, global team members of TDK USA Corporation, its participating subsidiaries, and affiliates are encouraged to join the festivities with race and registration fees paid for by their respective companies.

“TDK encourages unique approaches to engagement, camaraderie and community while balancing a global corporate footprint,” said Susan Rowatt, TDK’s committee chair for the Turkey Trot. “This holiday race combines those three elements and plays a role in keeping our team members happy and healthy.”

In addition to the in-person race, runners and walkers can participate virtually, enabling competition in different geographies and time zones. Last year, TDK team members from eight states and four additional countries (Canada, France, Taiwan, and China) for 332 total participants.

The race, founded in 2005, is a keystone fundraiser hosted by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation. All proceeds generated from the race benefit local charitable organizations, including the Healthier Kids Foundation, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Second Harvest Silicon Valley, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County and The Health Trust. To date, more than $10 million to support those most in need in Northern California.
